I remember my first office job. I was quite excited to start, and felt rather grown up in my pencil skirt. It didn't take long, however, for that very office environment to suck the creative life-force out of me leaving me to count clock ticks and daydream about the ice cream sandwiches in the cafeteria. I'm not sure why more employers haven't made the connection between drab and lifeless environments and drab and lifeless employees. In what line of work does uninspired benefit the bottom line? Even with strides being made by companies to offer competitive healthcare packages and physical fitness incentives, there is still something quite basic missing in the overall health = higher productivity cycle; a mentally positive aesthetic. This is a fixable problem! If companies inject a little more life into their office environment, they'll inject a little more life into the people who work there. It's that simple.
